The fire, which raged for three days on Potoska Gora, was tackled by 1100 firefighters from 160 firefighting units from Gorenjska and elsewhere. Helicopter pilots from the Slovenian Armed Forces dropped 400,000 litres of water on the fire site, and other intervention services also helped. Robert Špernjak, Deputy Commander of the 15th Military Aviation Regiment, said that the helicopter firefighting capability proved once again to be extremely important for Slovenia, especially in times of drought.
